About Me

My name is Dani Vlcek, passionate food blogger, mom, trained chef – and a true lover of good food.

I’m so glad you’re here and want to learn more about me and my culinary world!

My love for cooking began as a child – alongside my grandmother, who created the most delicious dishes with dedication and intuition. This fascination never left me. After high school, I chose the Hertha Firnberg School for Tourism and Management, where I completed my Matura while also receiving comprehensive training as a chef and restaurant specialist. My inspiring cooking teachers Andreas Tucek and Johann Reisinger – sparked my motivation for cooking.

I gained valuable practical insights at the Erste Bank restaurant operations, among other places, at that time under the management of Mr. Eberhardt and Robert Letz.

Although my professional path later led me to other industries, cooking has remained my great passion to this day. Together with my husband Thomas, also a trained hospitality professional, our shared kitchen became a creative playground – and eventually the idea became reality: Letsdocooking was born.

What you can expect here:

  • Authentic recipes with a regional focus

  • Seasonal dishes that are easy to recreate

  • Personal stories, tips & tricks from my kitchen

  • Video recipes and inspiration on YouTube, TikTok & more

  • Culinary travel reports from food destinations at home and abroad

Besides cooking, I love taking culinary journeys – from Austria’s mountain huts to Istria’s fish markets. I share my favorite food destinations on my second blog Letsdotravel, where I take you on culinary-inspired trips, including restaurant recommendations and regional specialties.

Inspired by my late father-in-law Andreas Vlcek, who was also a chef, I founded this food blog in summer 2023 – a passion project that brings together everything important to me: creativity, enjoyment, craftsmanship, family, and lots of love.

A special highlight was my participation in “Austria’s next Küchenchef:in” in August 2023 – hosted by Patricia Kaiser and accompanied by celebrity chef Oliver Hoffinger. There I had the chance to meet many wonderful people, gain new experiences, and take away even more motivation for my culinary journey.

My goal?
I dream of publishing cookbooks to share my favorite recipes with you permanently and to offer workshops. I’m also working on my own online shop, where you’ll find great products for cooking, baking, and enjoying food.

For collaborations and inquiries, you can reach me anytime by email.
I look forward to connecting – and of course to inspiring you with my recipes and travel tips.

Enjoy cooking, reading & savoring!
